This talk will cover the application of GUV devices as a key line of defence for infection control in the healthcare environment. Following the Covid pandemic a direct correlation between airborne transmission and air quality was found therefore various methods to reduce the viral loads have been investigated. One such method is the use of GUV air cleaners which have been found to be very beneficial for improving and upgrading ventilation. The installation of a UVC air cleaners can reduce the risk of airborne transmission and bring refurbished facilities up to the minimum specification of current standards identified in Health Technical Memoranda HTM03-01 without major system refurbishment works.
