Policy Advisor in the Housing, Planning and Environments for Health Team

Tina Roberts is a Policy Advisor in the Housing, Planning and Environments for Health team within the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), in the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC). The team’s overall policy focus is the impact of the built and natural environment on health and health disparities. Tina has a cross-cutting policy remit, currently working on projects covering housing and health, access to the natural environment and health, and development of public health metrics for the new Office for Local Government.

She joined DHSC in 2020 on secondment to contribute to national efforts during the Covid pandemic, working mainly in the Covid testing policy team, and then sought to further pursue her passion for reducing health disparities, permanently joining OHID in November 2021.

Prior to this, she worked at the Care Quality Commission, the regulator for health and adult social care for twelve years, leading programmes such as improving the regulatory approach to cancer services and surgical services. She also has extensive experience in health services research at King’s College London and the Institute of Psychiatry.
