Katie Clemence-Jackson

Senior Project Engineer and Partner, Max Fordham
Katie Clemence-Jackson is a senior project engineer at Max Fordham. She has delivered a variety of projects at all construction stages, covering a range of project types, from schools to sports buildings, and office refurbishments to residential projects. One of Katie's most notable projects is the redevelopment of Agar Grove Estate, which sets a standard for social housing in the UK and was a "proof of concept" for large-scale Passivhaus developments in the UK. Phases 1a and 1b are complete and show it has meaningfully tackled fuel poverty by reducing residents' fuel bills by 70% and it also influenced changes to the London Plan's approach to district heat networks. Katie is a Chartered Engineer with CIBSE and Chair of the CIBSE Technology Committee, helping the Institution to respond to consultations on national Building Services policy. Katie coordinates Max Fordham's internal MF:NetZero task group and was Max Fordham’s representative on New London Architecture’s Net Zero expert panel in 2020-21. When not working directly on projects, Katie promotes building services engineering to a wider audience. She chairs the Max Fordham 'Equality, Diversity and Inclusion' group and has taught seminars as part of architecture courses at the Bartlett at UCL, the Cass School of Architecture and Kingston University. She also regularly organises STEM workshops for school groups to promote engineering as a career choice.
