Mechanical Engineer, Arup
Harry Popplewell graduated from the University of Sheffield with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. Now working as part of Arup’s Building Engineering group in London, his main areas of experience include the refurbishment of historic buildings and the optimisation of operational performance. Most recently he led a soft landing for the Royal Academy of Arts 250th Anniversary project. Harry works with the Arup buildings and sustainability teams to apply a holistic approach leveraging circular economy principles to buildings projects. He was involved with a collaborative research project applying CE principles to MEP systems, and currently leads Arup’s work in this area, participating in industrial round tables and cross-industry work. Harry is a firm believer that the key enabler for a circular economy in the built environment is deep collaboration.
