Specified Solutions Engineer, Daikin

Born in West Sussex and educated in Hazelwick Comprehensive School, Crawley. I graduated from University with a degree in Psychology.

I entered the HVAC industry in 1999 when joining Vent-Axia in a pre-sales technical role, supporting external sales, wholesalers and contractors with the selection and application of ventilation, heating and air conditioning products. After two years of on the job training I was made their youngest external sales engineer at age 20. I covered the whole of Sussex and was responsible for wholesalers, contractors and public buildings such as prisons and hospitals as well as house builders, local authorities and housing associations. After two years in external sales I was offered a position by a competitor with the promise of more autonomy over how I ran my territory.

So in 2003 I started working for Greenwood Airvac covering Greater London. In this role my focus shifted towards specification and most of my time was spent setting up partnering agreements with House Builders, Housing Associations and Local Authorities. However after a year of this I started looking round for a new opportunity with a more technical product to sell. Airconditioning seemed the logical choice for me and after research into the market I know that Daikin was the company that had the best product and would be the best fit for me as an employer. I must have been right as 13 years later and I am still happily involved in their constant evolution. In my time at Daikin I have looked after many installation companies across the South East and four years ago I joined the Specification team based in central London. Working out of our prestigious offices in Tower Hill I am privileged to be at the heart of the action. Every day I witness the ever changing skyline of our glorious capital as I travel between the numerous specification practices that I look after.

Daikin have always been at the forefront of technology and it is exciting to be a part of the journey as we transition into new markets. Whilst the majority of projects I work on are using VRV, Chilled Water, Domestic Hot Water and Fresh Air are markets into which we are rapidly expanding.
