He spent many years as a member of three BSI committees (B/541, B/518 and B/525) during the transition from national standards to European. This naturally led onto a heavy involvement with product assessment, CE marking and the Construction Products Directive and the Construction Products Regulation. He is currently a member of the BSI CB/-/5 committee dealing with CPR policy issues. He has also managed the certification process leading up to the issue of BBA Agr'ment certificates for several overseas wood-based structural panels. In October 2011 he joined the Construction Products Association and is currently their Senior Technical manager with specific responsibility for the CPR and related European policy. This has naturally broadened to leading on the numerous aspects of Brexit and the future shape of the new UK landscape for the conformity assessment of construction products.
