Dr Shaun Fitzgerald
Director, Centre for Climate Repair, University of Cambridge
Shaun was appointed Director of the Centre for Climate Repair at the University of Cambridge in November 2020. The centre is involved in supporting deep and rapid emissions reduction, greenhouse gas removal, and developing understanding of approaches should we need them to restore particular damaged climate zones such as the Arctic. Prior to his current role he was Director of the Royal Institution, and before that he was CEO and founder of Breathing Buildings. His research interests include airflow in interior environments and he is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is a member of the SAGE Environmental Modelling Group, is one of the authors of the CIBSE Ventilation guide in the current Covid-19 pandemic, and a member of the independent panel on Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP).
