Susan is currently the Chief Engineer for Construction at the Manufacturing Technology Centre. This role involves the collaborative engagement across industry, government, academia and recognised institutions to develop and define a Technology Road Map which can support and transform the Construction industry in realising the targets set down by the Construction Leadership Council.   A chartered engineer and a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.   Susan has recently been appointed as a trustee of the CIBSE and sits on the main board.  She is currently co-chair for the redrafting of the Guide L Sustainability guide.

Susan has worked for more than 30 years within the Construction Industry from hands-on design and installation project roles, through to project management of complex high-value building services projects. Her past posts included being part of the Laing O’Rourke Engineering Excellence group.  This group bought together some of the construction industries most respected figures. Its principal role was to devise engineering strategies that effect positive change and enhance the prestige of the construction profession.
