Professor Chris Underwood

Professor Underwood has 36 years of experience in higher education plus 9 years’ experience in building services engineering design consulting and contracting. He specialises in modelling methods for energy and buildings (with an emphasis on systems, plant, and control) and has special interests in renewable microgeneration systems. He has published in excess of 100 research articles and other outputs including two books and four book chapters and has held numerous research and consultancy grants from industry, EPSRC and UK government sources. He holds the CIBSE’s Dufton and Napier-Shaw medals for contributions to research and is a former editorial board chair of the CIBSE/Sage research journal Building Services Engineering Research and Technology.
