S&P Ventilation session - 'An Introduction to Smoke Ventilation'
The presentation covers where smoke ventilation fits into the fire safety within buildings, covering the methods of smoke ventilation open to designers.
It looks at both ‘natural’ and ‘mechanical’ smoke ventilation systems and includes looking at BS EN12101-6 pressure differential systems, and especially pressurisation systems, as well as the more common smoke clearance systems (suction) generally specified in the UK today.
- Gain an overview of fire safety strategy in buildings, and where smoke ventilation fits in.
- Learn about different methods of smoke ventilation and how they work
- Appreciate the pros and cons of different system types and what should be considered in your design
