This session will consider how decarbonisation can be balanced with guarantee of supply, flexibility towards future markets and changing thermal demands.

By attending this session, you will:

  • Find about the UK’s largest smart, consumer-focused project aimed at overcoming the barriers to decarbonisation of residential heat.
  • Learn about next generation heat networks and smart grid technology. 
  • Hear how future proofing should be considered when developing major thermal infrastructure.
  • Hear about the Low Carbon Climate-Responsive Heating and Cooling of Cities (LoHCool) project measuring real and potential performance in existing buildings to investigate the use of passive and active systems within integrated design and re-engineering.
