Circadian Lighting for Health and Wellbeing

In recent years, ‘circadian lighting’ has been marketed as tuneable white lighting that can alter its spectrum and intensity. It aims to help improve people’s alertness during the day or during working hours using bright light, but to switch to lower brightness, warmer coloured lighting when it is time to relax.
This session will cover the research project on circadian lighting effects on health and wellbeing, that was jointly funded by the BRE Trust and CIBSE, to investigate the effectiveness of this type of lighting and how it should be controlled to maximise benefits.
