Director, Sustainable Energy

Paul Davidson has over 30 years’ experience in energy efficiency in buildings, particularly in the dissemination and promotion of information and guidance to all parts of the buildings sector. Part of this was delivered through his management of the buildings part of the Government’s Energy Efficiency Best Practice programme.
He is currently BRE’s Director of Sustainable Energy and is responsible for the provision of technical and policy support to government and other clients on all aspects of improving the energy performance of buildings. Of particular significance at present, Paul heads the team which has provided key input to the UK and other governments on implementation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, on successive revisions of Building Regulations and on the Green Deal – including the development of the calculation tools SAP and SBEM.
