Innes Johnston

Senior Partner
Max Fordham

After gaining a masters in engineering from Emmanuel, Cambridge, Innes spent time composing music before starting in Max Fordham’s London office, working on the mechanical systems in the Royal Festival Hall Auditorium.  This heralded a focus on existing buildings, performing arts, and acoustics.  Innes was project engineer for the low energy, naturally-ventilated Hull Truck Theatre, and has been in charge of many historic refurbishments, including studying temperature and humidity improvements via underfloor heating and natural ventilation changes at Gloucester Cathedral.  Innes started Max Fordham’s Bristol office in 2013, overseeing the Grade I listed Old Vic Theatre, currently on site.
