Arfon Davies


Arfon is a Director and lighting designer within the lighting studio of Arup. He leads the London lighting studio and has been responsible for a wide range of creative and award winning projects worldwide. He is one of the three founding members of the lighting studio at Arup, which has grown to 35 designers in the UK and over 100 worldwide, making the studio one of the largest independent lighting design practices.

His particular expertise in daylight and its contribution to creating holistic lighting solutions for people plays a key role in many of his innovative design solution on projects. These are wide ranging from museums and galleries, exhibition lighting, to transport buildings and commercial buildings all over the world.

He has authored and co-authored numerous lighting guides, including the BCO Lighting Guide, Society of Light and Lighting Daylight Guide (LG10) and Museum Lighting Guide (LG8), as well as the RIBA Technical Review series on Lighting and a book called Space Craft on Developments in the Architectural Computing.
